Inbound Webhooks (Relays)
new product
Planned November 12, 2025
flag March 31, 2026

Soon, you’ll be able to send data into MessageDesk from your existing systems using Inbound Webhooks. That means your CRM, VoIP platform, or internal database can automatically update contacts, trigger relays, and even start new SMS workflows — all without manual work.

Why this matters to you

  • Connect your CRM, ERP, or VoIP tools directly to MessageDesk.

  • Keep contact data consistent across systems — no more double-entry.

  • Trigger automated texts or workflows when events happen in other apps.

  • Extend MessageDesk’s power into your existing business stack.

What’s coming

New Relay Trigger: “Inbound Webhook”

  • Trigger any MessageDesk Relay when your connected system sends a webhook event.

  • Map data fields from your system’s JSON payload to MessageDesk contact fields.

New Relay Action: “Create or Update Contact”

  • Automatically add or update contacts when new data arrives from a 3rd party system.

  • Maintain up-to-date customer info without importing CSVs or manual syncs.

Webhook Testing & Mapping UI

  • Send a test webhook to MessageDesk and preview the payload in-app.

  • Easily map incoming JSON data to MessageDesk fields (just like in Zapier).

Example use cases

📞 VoIP integrations (RingCentral, Dialpad, etc.)

  • Receive call or voicemail events via webhook.

  • Trigger an SMS follow-up or assign a conversation to the right team instantly.

💬 Chat integrations (Slack, Microsoft Teams)

  • Update MessageDesk contacts or post conversation updates directly from Slack or Teams messages.

📋 CRM and ERP systems

  • When a lead or customer record updates in your CRM, MessageDesk automatically updates or messages them.
