Soon, you'll be able to view all sent/received Twilio messages in your MessageDesk Inbox.

Current Twilio-connected customers who also use other SMS-enabled systems (e.g., booking systems) experience conflicts when connecting numbers or messaging services to MessageDesk.

This improved integration will leverage Twilio’s Event Streams to listen to all inbound and outbound message events in a Twilio account without requiring webhook overrides or phone number reassignment.

Goals:

  • Enable MessageDesk/Twilio users to view inbound and outbound SMS sent via Twilio in MessageDesk without phone number conflicts or overwriting messaging service webhooks.

  • Support MessageDesk customers with shared phone number workflows between MessageDesk and other systems.

  • Reduce support burden related to Twilio phone number conflicts.

How this will work for Twilio users:

1. In MessageDesk, Twilio users connect their Twilio account via OAuth or API Keys.

2. We'll provide documentation to set up an Event Streams sync in Twilio Console, pointing to MessageDesk’s Event Handling Endpoint.

3. MessageDesk will confirm the connection and begin ingesting Twilio events.
